The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an awards ceremony for the winners of the 2023 Diplomatic Public Data Utilization Contest presided over by Director of Planning and Coordination Office Cho Gu-rae on Thursday, September 14. This contest aimed to further expand public participation and increase understanding of diplomatic public data. Ideas were accepted until early July, and winners were selected through review. In particular, this is the first year that the contest was jointly held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its affiliated organizations, and it achieved meaningful results by receiving many ideas from people from all walks of life who combined and analyzed data from each institution and open data.

The competition field is an idea planning section that utilizes diplomatic public data and data in related fields. A total of 5 winning works were awarded, with the Grand Prize and Excellence Award receiving the Minister of Foreign Affairs Award, and the Encouragement Award receiving the Chairman of the Affiliated Organization's Award along with cash prizes.
