KAF-KDI Meeting with African Students Residing in Korea Held

The Korea-Africa Foundation held a meeting on November 28 (Friday) with 33 African students from 10 countries (Ghana, Gambia, Nigeria, Madagascar, Malawi, Botswana, Uganda, Egypt, Kenya, and Tanzania) currently enrolled at the KDI School of Public Policy and Management. 

Most participating students are government scholarship recipients pursuing master’s degrees in Public Management(MPM), Public Policy(MPP), Development Policy(MDP), Data Science(MDS), and Intellectual Property and Development(MIPD), and are accumulating academic and practical experience during their stay in Korea.

This meeting was organized to gather diverse perspectives from African students residing in Korea in order to expand exchanges with Korean youth and to encourage their participation in future youth-focused programs. Participants freely shared a wide range of ideas aimed at strengthening people-to-people exchanges between Korean and African youth.

The Vice President KAM Woon-an emphasized that the experiences and insights students have gained in Korea will serve as an important foundation for future cooperation between young people of both regions. He added that the Foundation will continue to enhance communication with African students and youth, further developing its role as a platform connecting youth from Korea and Africa.

Building on this meeting, the KAF will continue expanding its network with African students and reinforcing a structure in which African youth can directly propose and participate in projects. Through these efforts, the Foundation aims to further broaden the landscape of Korea-Africa youth cooperation. We appreciate your interest and participation.
