Mr. Kam Woon-an, Executive Vice President of The Korea-Africa Foundation, hosted a welcome dinner for the African Union (AU) delegation visiting Korea to attend the 6th Korea?AU Policy Consultation.
The dinner was attended by Mr. Binian Berhe, Chair of the Sub-Committee of the Whole on Multilateral Cooperation, Mr. Owassa Daniel, Rapporteur of the same Sub-Committee, Ms. Yema Flora Silva, Deputy Permanent Representative (DPR), as well as key officials from the AU Commission, the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat. Participants exchanged views on strengthening Korea?Africa cooperation and discussed potential areas of collaboration with the Foundation’s key programs.
Mr. Kam noted that last year’s Korea?Africa Summit in Seoul marked a new milestone in the partnership between the two sides, and expressed his hope that the 6th Korea?AU Policy Consultation would serve as a meaningful opportunity to further advance bilateral cooperation in the years to come.
The AU delegation also conveyed their hope to see broader collaboration between Korea and Africa across various sectors, and looked forward to tomorrow’s Policy Consultation as a valuable occasion to reinforce the partnership between the two sides.
